Hi Shalom, Thanks for the invitation to the WAB meeting on Feb 19th, but I'm sorry I have other commitments which require my attention. I trust your meeting will go well and discussions on the HRM Strategy will be fruitful. As to your question on whether I was able to pursue further education / training in limnology , the answer is regrettably no, not yet. My personal situation with respect to family and work commitments doesn't allow for additional pursuits right now. The NALMS CLM program looked interesting, but it's on the back burner for now. I'll be sending out letters of invitation soon to consultants for the project which Rick mentioned last week. I'll include you in the distribution list. I encourage you to participate, if you're able. Hope the WAB meeting goes well. Regards, Darrell >>> "S.M. Mandaville" 02/10/03 06:06am >>> Good morning Darrell! On September 06, 2001, you had sent me an email asking for suggestions re possible upgrading of your expertise in Limnology and/or Lake Management which is a laudable ambition (one should never never stop learning, if not, one becomes a `dinosaur' like so many well-paid bureaucrats at all levels). Your email is towards the end of the email I labeled as "taylor1.htm" in the `Attachments' to this email. You had also expressed such an interest when I dropped in there unannounced in early 1994 and showed you the real old version of one of my spreadsheet TP Predictive models (these models have gone through several upgrades now using the latest regressions where relevant as mentioned earlier). If you also recall, as usual, I had responded in quick succession without delay by three (3) detailed emails some of which took me quite some time (several hours) to formulate since I had to check my archives; all those 3 emails are included here under `Attachments'! My question is did you pursue your ambition or whether you are putting them `on hold'? One can do some (not all) of them on evenings and weekends and holidays like some of us have done in decades past!! I continuously felt there is a real strong need of atleast half a dozen well-paid regulators in Government service combined at NSDEL as well as at HRM to obtain atleast a practical accreditation in Lake Management. There is no one at HRM either who has relevant practical training. Best wishes! ========================================================================= Shalom M.
