CAUTION

These values should be compared with the indicator threshold for fecal coliforms of 18/100ml natural background value for pristine lakes as ascertained by DFO's contract biologist, Paul Mandell, during the early 1990s!

It is also cautioned that based on other extensive data inclusive of that collected by the Province and ourselves, the HRM's baseline sampling program data (based on lake outflows) has failed to predict the problems with "inlake fecal counts" in several lakes!

HENCE DO NOT USE THESE DATA TO BASE ONE's OPINIONS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF SWIMMING or FOR OTHER BENEFICIAL USES OF LAKES. IN ADDITION, EXPERIENCE HAS SHOWN THAT DIFFERENT PARTS OF EVEN SMALL LAKES CAN HAVE DIFFERENT COUNTS!

As select examples, significant discrepancies were evident at First Lake (various sub-basins), Lower Sackville; Springfield Lake, Middle Sackville; Papermill Lake (parts), Bedford; and at other lakes!
